NORTH on Taconic Parkway; exit at Red Hook/Pine Plains/Rt.199.
LEFT/WEST on Rt. 199 for 1 mile.
BEAR LEFT onto Salisbury Turnpike (a two lane road) for .3 mile to
stop sign.
LEFT on Field Road up hill for .3 mile.
Just over crest of hill, see Hemmingway Lane sign on left; take
RIGHT fork; driveway on RIGHT (your GPS may say left)
From the north:
SOUTH on Taconic Parkway; exit at Red Hook/Pine Plains/Rt.199
RIGHT/WEST on 199. Then follow directions above.
From the east:
West on Rt.199 from Millerton/Amenia. After Taconic Parkway
underpass, follow directions above.
From the west:
Exit NYS Thruway at Kingston, EAST on Rts. 209/199, over
Kingston/Rhinecliff bridge. Follow Rt 199 about 8 miles to Field
Road on RIGHT (across from Another Fork in the Road/ a finer
diner). In .6 mile, see Hemmingway Lane on LEFT; take RIGHT fork;
driveway on RIGHT.
* If the map you choose to use directs you to take the Bulls Head
Road exit off the Taconic, do so, but know that the first 1/2 mile of
Field Road is one lane, unpaved, and winding – though quite lovely.
NOTE: In Google maps, 12 Hemmingway Lane (the spelling on the street sign!)
shows up only as 530 Field Road, Red Hook, New York; does not show up as
Hemingway Lane, Milan, but both addresses share the same driveway.
